I recently bought 6 pounds of dates at Costco. Dates (which I often refer to as nature’s candy) are a great source of quick energy, fiber, vitamins B and C as well as antioxidants like carotenoids and phenolics. Since I use dates frequently to make something called Balls of Energy (which I eat almost every day) I thought of the 6 pounds a wise investment.
These little treats with dates, protein powder and a few other easy to come buy ingredients give me the energy to get through a busy morning of back-to-back training sessions. The recipe is from the now defunct Oxygen Magazine. I would love to share said recipe with you however I am not sure if this would run afoul of copyright laws. Better to be safe than sorry I always say.
However, my FitFluential friends have some other date recipes that they graciously agreed to let me share.

Or if you need a high energy side dish with your protein of choice try her Moroccan Couscous.
Or you can be like Brian and just eat 3-4 straight out of the jar. Just keep the portion under control, like nuts they are energy dense!
